It's still lacking a lot of shading, but I thought it'd be better if I first tested if the shapes animated properly.

ITD++ : Making a proper menu screen III
I've developed a simple bitmap ASCII font in the vein of Fixedsys, in three sizes: 8x16,16x32, and 32x64. At first I thought that a 8x12/16x24/32x48 (that's a 2x3 ratio) would look better, but it gave me issues with lining up the bottom of uppercase and lowercase characters...
Anyways, I've started using the biggest font size, and adding some prettying up to the menu elements:
The smaller the font, the more satisfied I am with it... anyways, this is somewhat promising.
...Carol-Anne, the beast in me, so here it comes, here it comes, reaching out somewhere from inside, your teee-veeeeeeee!!! % D

ITD++ : Making a proper menu screen.
Current main menu screen for ITD++ is like this:
Fugly, rite? It's one of the things players have been giving (bad) feedback about, so we need another one. Something like this:
Owait that's fugly too. Note to self:
-Not in B/W
-Fleshed out
-With actual pixels,
-In different resolutions.
But you get the idea. In truth it should be moar liek dis:
I don't know what the fuck to do to make the same background in different resolutions. Oh well, I'll come up with something.

Annual Roguelike Release party
TWO RELEASES WITH MY GRAPHICS!!!
WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Into the Dungeon ++ and Fall from Heaven the roguelike have been just released!!
Fall from Heaven is a roguelike (and shooting for major roguelike, at that!) by Jolly Roger, with graphics by GoodSir and me. It takes the background from Fall from Heaven I and II, critically acclaimed mods for Civilization games.
You can check it's release thread at Temple of the Roguelike here, and it's article at the RogueBasin wiki here.
Into the Dungeon ++ is a more light roguelike, and is less developed, but on the good side that should make it much more easy to get into the game. And it's animated! I'd say ITD++ is much much more newcomer-friendly than FFHtR.
Programmer and Head Dev for ITD++ is 7h30n, I'm the pixel guy, and it's got an INDESCRIBABLY AWESOME original soundtrack by Foox.
You can check it's release thread at Temple of the Roguelike here, and it's article at the RogueBsain wiki here.

Forty Key Pixelling Frenzy
Well so I've gone mad making all these little parts.
It's so easy to make multi part sprites!
They really show results for your work!

Forty Key Kick Ass Goodness
WAHAHAHAHAHA I'M DRUNK WITH PAWA!!!!!!!111!!1!!11one.
Ahem. Sorry.
With this multicomponent indexed color kit, you can build gazillions of space marine sprites. Tactical, assault, hvy wpnz, Chaplains and Librarians. Chaplains would need to be recolored black, and librarians in blue, with the main color displayed in the shoulders.
No tech marines or other things for now. Feel free to suggest new pieces, you, the odd person who's reading this.
TODO:
-Heavy laser (I'll have to come up with a Corremn Pattern lascannon, held like the other hvy wpnz, not shoulder-held)
-standard and pistol flamer
-bionic replacement versions for every kind of limb
and just about anything that comes to mind... Terminators, chaos marines, all kinds of stuff eventually.
Now I know how to make multipart sprites :D

Forty Key Good Good Goodness
With this multi-component indexed color spritesheet, you can assemble a gazillion of tactical and assault space marines, armed with bolter or bolt pistol and chainsword. Includes variant heads and bionic legs.
Special weapons pixelled separately.

40k Goodness
So, here are a couple of bitz I made, hopefully for use in Corremn's 40k project.
These three weapons I made some weeks ago, a chainsword, a bolt pistol and a plasma pistol:
And this generic green marine with a bolter I just pulled out of my ass:
And, actually unrelated and old but still nice:

Two new icons for FFHtR: Enraged and Overhealing. The purple-colored corners will be used for debuffs.

ITD++: Dragon Boss FINISHED!!!
:D
I got back to pixelling for ITD++ after a long while, because I'm working on an iPhone game now... but the ARRP is closing in, and that means I've got to make more art for TWO roguelikes!!
Since now I'm doing this kind of thing for $$$, I feel the need to go a bit wild when making pixels for the projects I'm into just for the heck of it... that's why I gave the Casting animation a fierce little lightning sun, and why the dragon bleeds fricking molten metal.
More FFHtR stuff soon!

ITD++ : Dragon Boss WIP
I FINALLY finished the last walking animation for the ITD++ Dragon Boss.
Some parts of this critter gave me hell. The rear-view tail and flexed leg, specially.

Into the Dungeon ++: Orcs and Skeletons
This is probably the final version of these critters, the first four creatures you will find in Into the Dungeon ++. They have been at least a couple of months in the making, and I finished them today.

Fall From Heaven the Roguelike: Creature Sprites
So here is another update for FFHtR's creature tileset. New critters are Balseraph Puppeteers, in elven and human flavor.

Hero of Allacrost: Prettifying a Cave Entrance
Today I fixed three glaring holes in Hero of Allacrost.
The first one is a cave entrance that is shown at the beginning of the game. Here you can see the change:
Almost a late night teletienda commercial huh? ;)
The other two fixes were two armor item icons, for the Shouldered Breastplate and the Metal Shield. They aren't pixel art, though.

Into the Dungeon ++ : Hero Sprite
Here is the latest update for the hero sprite of Into the Dungeon ++. I drew inspiration from Aragorn (dev's suggestion) and Gatsu, the main character of the Berserk manga. As of now, this little guy has four directions walking cycles, attacks, standing animations, and a death animation (which is the last thing I've done).
The game this will feature in is a roguelike, and even two-frame animations are pretty much ZOMG HERETICAL HIGH TECH!!! for roguelikes.

Fall From Heaven the Roguelike: Creature Sprites
So, here is the latest update of the incredible, awesome, painstakingly developed creatures I'm pixelling for Fall From Heaven the Roguelike, a roguelike based on a widely acclaimed Civilization IV mod, which is called just the same sans the "roguelike" part.
The latest critter of the bunch is the Iron golem, rightmost one on the bottom row.
It's two critters short of sixty little guys and it's already been two or three months in the making.
New Blogz0r!!!
HAY GUISE :D
I just made this blog to put all my pixel art stuff... in hopes of showing it to people that would actually pay me for it.
Right now I'm involved in three projects, two roguelikes and one console-style freeware PC RPG. Console-style PC RPG. Now that's contradiction!!
The two roguelike projects are Fall From Heaven the Roguelike, a roguelike based on a widely acclaimed Civilization 4 mod; and Into the Dungeon++, a roguelike that's going to feature ¡¡ANIMATION¡¡ something that will probably get us impaled and burnt by a mob of angry roguelikers. Neither of them has got a homepage, as far as I know (they really should, they're going to be awesome games) but you can find the devs at www.roguetemple.com
The contradicting game is called Hero of Allacrost and that one *does* have a homepage, which you can find at www.allacrost.org
